I used to own a puny Nikon D40 that I purchased for myself as a Christmas present in December 2006. I’m now using a slightly less puny Nikon D90 that’s permanently coupled to a AF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED DX VR Lens for everything. (Lazy, I am) When in darkness, there’s my Nikon SB600 to bring forth the light.
I try to chuck my gear in the Digi-Cabi drybox but most of the time it lives in my car. The D40 was a great investment, and saw action in Bintan, Sentosa, India, Thailand, and Malaysia, aside from many a local photo-op. The D90 has only gone to Switzerland thus far.
Some of the more grainy, soft-focus pics might be from my Sony Ericsson w550i, which has great sound quality for MP3s, but a slightly less credible 1.3 megapixel camera. That was later upgraded to a Sony Ericsson K800i which shot some excellent pics (by mobile phone standards). Now I’m stuck with a Nokia E71 which does everything well aside from photography.
Wish list
- Nikon SB600 (The SB800 would be great to have, but it’s bit pricey IMHO)
- Sto-fen Omnibounce for the SB600
- Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AF-S (even though the Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AF D will do fine)
- AF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED DX VR Lens
- AF-S 12-24mm f/4 G DX IF-ED Lens
